Candy Wedding Favors

A hot trend for this years' weddings is candy, from favors and gifts to a full blown candy buffet this is one trend that works perfectly for all weddings.

The other great thing about candy is that it can be inexpensive, think back to candy that you enjoyed as a child with all the bright colors and how this can fit into your theme.

For favors, individual bags of candy either in clear cellophane bags or traditional paper bags works well. To add a touch of sophistication choose your candy by color, shades of pinks and reds tied with a pink ribbon will look perfect. Use the same idea to fit in with your color scheme and then match your ribbon. I have found that using the decorative wire ties is quicker and easier than trying to fiddle with material ribbons and it produces the same effect.

For free bags for your candy favor visit your local traditional candy store and explain what you want to do. Order your candy through them and ask for the paper bags to be included in the price.

A great online candy store is A Quarter Of, they have just started to package their items as wedding favors and provide the whole service of bagging the candy and labelling for you. They also sell the candy by wholesale quantities as well.

The candy buffet idea is a light hearted touch to your wedding reception, and any child guests will love you! All you need are jars and bowls filled with candy, provide little scoops and paper bags and let your guests fill up their own favors!

Again speak to a local candy shop and see if you can borrow the scoops and have the bags for free if you buy your candy through them. Put little notices on the tables explaining to your guests what to do. You may want to have someone to supervise the table so that the children don't go over the top!

You can always fill your candy buffet with home-made goodies; cookies, fudge, cakes - have a baking party and invite your family and friends to help create.
