Cheap Wedding Solutions

All in 1 cheap wedding invites

by Justina Colon
(Napanoch NY USA)

When shopping for my wedding invites I was floored by how expenisive they can be. The rep at my local printers showed me a great solution and saved me a bunch of money in the process. They are an all in one invite. They are much longer than a standard invitation and they fold up. At the bottom is the RSVP card which conveniently tears off and can be mailed back with a 28 cent postcard stamp instead of the 44 cent ones. They came out beautifully and we've gotten alot of compliments on them.

The cheapest wedding invitations

by Sarah
(Dublin)

We have managed to save ourselves a fortune by finding a willing friend of a friend to do the printing of our wedding invitations. They work at a local printers and are going to be doing this at cost!

All I have to do is put the invitations together and tie with a gold ribbon.

I would definately recommend asking all of your friends if they know anyone that can help with anything; baker, florist, hairdresser, photographer - you get the idea. You will be amazed at the amount of people that may be able to help.

Other savings on our wedding stationery are our thank you cards, these are going to be postcards with a photo from our wedding.

Make Your Own Wedding Invitations

by jennifer o.
(Fort Worth, TX, USA)

I love to make my own cards and invitations. Sure they take a lot more time and energy, but you can also save money making your own. Plus, they will all be a bit different and unique. The same goes for wedding favors.

Place card doubles as wedding favor

by Lauren Belliveau
(Redondo Beach, CA)

We are getting married in October 2010. The ceremony and reception will be outdoors at a ranch in the mountains of Southern California. Since nature is the back drop, and I want to give my guests something that will long out-last our actual wedding day-- I am giving them personalized wildflower seed packets. The packets will have the details of our wedding on one side and the name of the guest on the other. Lined up on the table, guests can choose their place card and favor at the same time. Additional seed packets will decorate the tables, along with a nature-inspired centerpiece and flowers. I plan on printing the labels for the seed packets myself. The idea of the name cards being used instead of just tossed really appeals to me. Plus, I save money because I am not having place cards specially printed.

Hi Lauren
That sounds great and so easy to do yourself, all you need to buy is the seed in bulk, some labels and little envelopes. There are some cute phrases to use on your seed packets here!

Good luck with the rest of your wedding plans, it sounds lovely.

Cheap Save the Dates

by Lacey
(Buffalo, NY, USA)

Our save the date

Our save the date

When my fiance and I got engaged, I wasn't sure if I even wanted to do Save the dates, because we were on a tight budget. However when we set our date for early May, prime time for college graduation weekends, i decided we probably needed one. I set out to find the cheapest way I could DIY without stressing myself out about it too much. I am a big fan of spoofee.com and constantly look up new online deals and coupons. Usually there are many photo printing sites such as Kodak that will give new customers their first 20 or so prints for free, as long as you pay for shipping. So I decided to try it. My fiance had his younger brother take pictures of us (we are using NBC's "The Office" as our theme) and I used those pictures and edited them on my computer with publisher. Between myself, my fiance, and my mother all opening new accounts with 2 different sites I only spent $11 all together on shipping for 120 Save The Dates!

Hi Lacey
Genius idea love the savings you made and you could use this idea for a fun wedding invitation as well.
Good luck with the rest of your plans, I am sure you will find lots of cheap ways to have your dream wedding!

Free Place Cards

by kim mabbott
(Bracknell, berkshire, UK)

I have used vista print, who offer 250 free business cards (in which you can upload your own design) and postcards to create my place cards and menus.

I only had to pay for the postage £4, so I have 250 professional place cards and menus for next to nothing at all.

Brilliant idea Kim!
