How to make wedding kissing balls

How to make wedding kissing balls, wedding bouquets, centerpieces, invitations, dresses, cakes, favors, veils ... the list is endless on what you very clever DIY brides are up to. Come and share your highs and lows and join in this fun way to help each other, and if you are anything like me the more help the better! Just fill out the form below.

Wedding kissing balls or pomanders are traditionally used to decorate, they work very well on wedding arches and also ends of pews. Plus they are a sweet way for flower girls to carry flowers, as mini bouquets are hard for them to carry.

All you need to make one is a round/ball of florist's oasis and silk flowers or other decorations to cover the ball.

It helps if you start with the ribbon, tie it round the middle, secure it with glue from a glue gun or pins. Leave the ends loose at the moment.

Next secure your silk flowers or other decor - just using one color per ball looks very classy and the idea is to completely cover the ball. When you are happy with the coverage you can now tie the ribbon - a loop for a flower girl to hold or length to tie to an arch or pew end.

If you want to have more than one color with your kissing balls you can use alternate colors on each pew - ie pink on one and then white on the next one.

All there is left for me to do is ask ...

Do you have a secret?

Have you just completed the most fantastic wedding project? Then here is where you can show it off, come and sing from the roof tops!
or
Have you just had the biggest disaster, are your bows lopsided? Did the glue explode? Were there tears? Do you need a big hug?
