The perfect answer to finding the mother of the bride dress

Finding the perfect mother of the bride dress can take ages. (and so can the groom's mother's dress too!)

I know my mum ended up with two dresses as she couldn't find the perfect dress for ages and didn't want to end up with no dress for my wedding.

However I stumbled across this great idea today which could help you find not only the mother of the brides dress but many other female guests dresses as well and all for free!

And the answer is a Swishing Party and the way it works is that you take along an outfit you don't want to wear any more and swap it for someone else's. The idea is you take along something gorgeous from your wardrobe that you no longer wear but are proud to pass on. It's a chance to have a drink and a chat, get rid of some excess clothes and leave with a completely new (to you) outfit.

You could organise your own Swishing party the website has some great invites to download, one especially for wedding outfits. Or keep your eyes out for a local Swishing party and you could find yourself with the perfect mother of the bride dress at no extra cost.

I am off to rummage through my wardrobe, with more weddings to go to this year it would be great to get a free dress and also to find a new home for my over optimistic too small Ted Baker dress ;o)
