To create a winter feel look for tight budded roses, these you can buy in supermarkets and also buy in bulk online.

Hunt down lots of vintage glass vases from thrift stores or have a look in your local dollar store for some plain glass vases. Fill the vases with white pebbles - you can get these from craft stores and water, then have the roses packed on top together.
