The Royal Wedding Of Prince William To Kate Middleton
There Are Lots Of Cheap Wedding Ideas
The Royal Wedding is only days away and has been billed by some as the wedding of the century but it is nice for us at Cheap Wedding Solutions to see that there have been some savings on the way!
Starting with the engagement ring which was once Prince William's mother's engagement ring, it is an iconic ring with a large sapphire and diamonds and one that was copied by high street stores many times in 1981, there will definitely be some more copying this time round as well! But it is not the design of the ring that we should be copying more the fact that a very treasured family ring has been used again, the savings would be great. If your family does not have the perfect engagement ring hidden away then look at buying a once loved ring, my engagement ring was just that, we bought it at a small antiques store, it also has sapphires and diamonds just not the same size and cost a fraction of the price of similar rings in local jewelry stores.
Moving to the Royal Wedding day you could joke that choosing a Friday wedding would save you money, somehow that probably isn't the case this time but for most of us regular wedding venues do discount if you have your wedding on a Friday.
Kate Middleton will be travelling to the wedding in a car from the Queen's fleet, another saving and one that we can all use. Everyone knows someone with a car they can use, it may not be a Bentley or a Rolls Royce but a polish and a wedding ribbon and it would be just as good.
After the ceremony the Royal couple will have a reception at Buckingham Palace, a brilliant way to save money on your reception is to have it in a family member's home and true the rest of us are not marrying into the Royal family but we can all save money by having a backyard wedding reception. Think of it as being funky and retro rather than grand!
And rather than a full sit down wedding breakfast guests will be served Champagne and canapés instead.
Another wedding saving is on their choice of Groom's cake which is a Chocolate Biscuit Cake, and it is easy to make yourself as you don't have to cook it. You can find the recipe at The Royal Chef by Darren McGrady. The main wedding cake will probably cost quite a bit more!
So although this very Royal wedding is going to cost big money, the security alone will cost millions which thankfully the rest of us wouldn't have to budget for, there have been some clever decisions that show Prince William and Kate Middleton are aware of the current economic climate. Plus Prince William is a future King of England it wouldn't be right if their wedding was low key.
Wishing all of the couples getting married soon a very Happy Wedding Day and lots of happiness for the future.
