Wedding Beauty Salons - How to find the best one for you

Wedding beauty salons are a great place to visit when you are planning your big day, not only do they make you feel special and pampered they also show you how to look even more gorgeous! Always a bonus for your wedding day!

When booking your beauty regime, chat over your requirements with your beautician at least six months before the wedding day as there are lots of treatments to consider, you need to find what will work for you.

I went and had a chat to Carol at Cherish Well Being to find out what was available for brides to be and apart from coming away feeling more relaxed than I have in ages, I also managed to get some tips for you! Here they are:

Wedding beauty salons are great if you need help losing some inches, ask your therapist what you can hope to achieve from the sessions and how far in advance appointments will need to be booked. At Cherish, their bodywraps are a total body treatment – cleansing, toning and moisturising as well as giving inch loss, helping with cellulite/detoxifying the body. Other body therapy treatments may not be required.

We can’t always depend on a real tan for special occasions, so a quick 10 minute low cost spray tan will give incredible colour, developing to a shade to suit your natural colouring. Gone are the days of a streaky orange glow! At Cherish, our Solglo spray tan is best applied two days before your wedding. The tan develops over 10 hours, revealing an all over beautiful tan. Any residue is washed away when you shower, the day after the session. No one will know that it’s fake!! Again, it’s best to check with your wedding beauty salon as there are many products on the market. You may consider having a spray tan for your hen night, to see how it’s going to look.

It is wise to book manicures and pedicures at least six months before your wedding. Not only are your nails cared for, but your legs, feet, arms and hands are moisturised and massaged. How awful it would look if you showed off your wedding ring, with perfectly painted nails but you still had dry, cracked skin.

If you are considering a make up artist, find a Photographic Make Up Artist, rather than just cosmetic make up skills. A Photographic Make Up Artist knows what colours and shading is required to bring out the best in your wedding photographs. This is an extra skill, not taught in a cosmetic make up course. A trial make up is always recommended, to give you the opportunity to see the look before the day. This would take about an hour. The artist will make notes, so that on the day, everything will have been planned in advance.

Don’t forget visiting wedding beauty salons as part of your hen party is a great way to relax and be pampered before your wedding day and a lovely treat.

Carol Aplin, owner of Cherish, initially trained as a fashion and photographic make up artist to work alongside her photographer husband, Chris.

After graduating, she decided to embark on a body massage course and since then Carol has added more and more holistic andbeauty therapies to her menu, training at The Carlton Institute in Windsor, Ellisons Academy in Coventry and Swindon College. Cherish Well Being opened its Beauty and Relaxation Studio in April 2007 at the Ridgeway Chiropractic Clinic in Wroughton, near Swindon in Wiltshire.
