Hi I am getting married in 9 months and have a budget of 2000 dollars we found a reasonable church however cannot find a place for the reception.

We want to invite 100 people and would like to have the reception inside if possible.

Please help with ideas for flowers and decorations as well i am really lost and have no help I am open to all ideas.

Hi Tia

Congratulations on your engagement and also for finding a church that you like and that is within your budget.

To find a venue to hold your numbers you will need to be creative, move away from typical wedding reception venues - they will charge more than your budget and instead look at any venue that will hold your numbers.

Have you asked at the church, do they have a hall?

Is there a local community hall that you could hire.

Do any of your friends or family have contacts with schools, colleges, clubs - anywhere that is big enough? Or does anyone have enough space in their backyard?

Can you use your local park? A number of parks will let you hold your wedding recepion within their grounds - and you would save yourself a fortune on decorations!

Think about your flowers and decorations once you have your venue as you may find that you won't need to decorate as much.

Cheaper flowers such as carnations and daisies can look stunning if you tie them in tight bouquets, equally as stunning is one single stem of a stunning flower.

Have a look at ways to have a cheap wedding reception you can save yourself lots of money by being creative.

Good luck with all of your plans.

Suz

Here are some cheap ideas:

I got my flowers at Kroger in Mt. Washington. They do bouquets and centerpieces. Go with flowers that are in season and that will be cheaper. Or buy fake for church decor - no one will even know.

Reception ideas: Hamilton County Parks have several banquet halls, but they get you with the catering. I had my reception at the Little Red Schoolhouse in Indian Hill. Historic building, you supply your own caterer. At the time, there was even a multi-disc cd player so no DJ needed!

Just attended a wedding this summer that used a bbq place for catering. It wasn't tacky (I promise!) and the food was really good. I just can't think of the name of the company they used....

Dress - there is bridal consignment shop on Kenwood Road in Silverton (about a mile or two house of Kenwood Towne Center). Great deals on gowns. Also check Craigslist for dresses. Some are brand new and cheap! There's also a Snooty Fox that has bridal.

Purchase invitations at Michaels or Hobby Lobby and print them yourself or have printing company run them on a black and white copier on your stock (make sure they'll accept your stock before you purchase it all!).

Photography - don't skimp here. Call local newspapers and see if any photographers shoot weddings (I know they do!).

Good luck!
