(elk point, SD)
I live in south Dakota. My fiance and I have been together 5 years and have 2 kids. We wanted to get married at the courthouse on our anniversary, then have a nice reception with just cake and music.. But since or anniversary is on a Saturday, this is not possible. It will also be in Feb so it will be way to cold to have an outside ceremony. I know I'm only inviting family to the ceremony and more people can come to the reception if they would like.. Do you have any ideas as to where I can have my wedding? Also, we do not belong to a church how do we find someone to lead our wedding? We don't want to spend a lot because we can not afford a lot..maybe 2,000-3,000. Do you have any ideas/advice for me?
I would start by finding a wedding officiant that you both like. There do seem to be a few in your area when I look online.
Have a chat with the officiant that you would like to go with and see if they have any ideas as to locations for your ceremony. There don't seem to be lots of obvious indoor ones when I have looked. Although I found Prairie Sky Ranch which will hold small ceremonies.
You may want to consider having your ceremony at home or at a family members' home?
Good luck finding your ceremony location, would love to hear when you have found the perfect place.
